Summer Yoga Intensive:
The Roots of Practice

Asana/Pranayama Class: 9-11am

Philosophy Class, also includes meditation: 4-6pm

Practice, Study, Go Deeper

Deepen your practice and understanding of the Classical Yoga Tradition. This 4-day intensive will include 2 hour daily asana/pranayama classes, and afternoon philosophy classes, discussions and meditation. We will explore the roots of yoga, both historically, and in terms of the key aims and means of practice. Studies will include readings from the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and Upanishads.

Sandy Lamerson

Level 2 Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher,

Ayurvedic Health Counselor

Sandy has been an avid yoga practitioner since 2005. She has traveled to India several times to study yoga and Ayurveda. She enjoys deep practice and studying classical Indian philosophy, which she finds valuable to apply to everyday life.

Lauren Bausch

Professor, Ph.D.

Professor Lauren M. Bausch has a PhD in Sanskrit and has been teaching at DRBU since 2015. A specialist in the Brāhmaṇa texts, she investigates the relationship between Vedic tradition and early Indian Buddhism. She edited Self, Sacrifice, and Cosmos: Vedic Thought, Ritual, and Philosophy (Primus Books, 2019) and is currently writing The Brāhmaṇa Texts as Philosophy. A scholar-practitioner, she has practiced yoga for twenty years.
